I wander around the city.

I turn into an anonymous street, flouting the much beaten tourist trail.

The walls around me resemble an open newspaper, where the inner workings of society are laid bare.

I take a photo, some notes and continue on my way.

The marks of time, graffiti, scribbled messages on walls, the multilayered textures and the traces of the city dweller are the silent voice of the metropolis and give testimony in my work.

Last stop, the studio. Exterior invades interior, and my canvas takes on the texture of a city wall. The street is my studio of ideas and inspiration.

Unsavory elements such as the unsightliness, disarray and neglect of the streetscape are redeemed in the pictorialscape through a riot of color and texture.
